It was the first semester of my university life, and I might say it was a pretty hectic period. From the way we were treated as students, to the way we treat our studies, it was all very different from high school. However, the English 203 course was one that I perceived very similar to high school classes. It was a small class with comparison to other courses, we always had interesting debates with the teacher, sometimes joked around, and all of us at some point became friends with each other. To me that was the thing that I thought brought this class to another level. During most courses, we just sit down and listen to the professor explain the course; they all seemed to be very dry. It felt really nice attending a class that made us take...
language by definition is an irrefutable mean of communication that connects society as a whole and gives it a unique identity. however, language has potential to cross the constraints of that definition. language ha the potential to inspire a revolution and turn a person's life around but it also can be the spark that lights up an entire war. this power is actually one that can drive an entire life where one uses language as means of self expression or a refute from the struggles of life in which case language becomes a gateway to creativity and unexpected results.
as a result of the oral presentation received today on emotional intelligence, I decided to look into my own emotional weaknesses. I consequently found out  that I am over-forgiving, over-caring, and under goal-oriented. to fix these weaknesses, I decided to try and become more stern and consider more other's behaviors towards me so that i combat the over-forgiveness. i also would work on procrastination and schedules to fix the under goal-orientation.
